Hey guys,

It's been a long time since I set all this stuff up... I've got Mercury 32
(v4.01), Reliable 1.0.5, JBN 2.1.4, I had all my keys all set up for PGP
2.6.3i but then I remembered I ran into a problem (with the Moose remailer)
with 2.6.3 so I've set everything up again for 6.5.8ckt. Got my little
ident server going and opened the hole in my firewall for TCP on 113.

anyway!.. first question is.. I've got the panta mods here and I look at
the old Dingo site and it says "Reliable 1.0.5, w/ Frog and Farout mods"
under his config info... I don't think I ever knew - are the panta mods a
substitute for the Frog and Farout mods? I've looked around a bit on a
couple of Frog admin's old websites... at the moment I haven't found the
Reliable mods but that probably wouldn't take a lot more hunting... now the
Farout mods on the other hand..

Oh ya and I've got a commercial acct with a static IP so I've got my ISP to
set up the PTR and I've got the SPF on the to do list.... I'm thinking I'll
take advantage of my unlimited forwarding from my domain registrar and send
everything to a gmail box like I did when I was trying to make things work
on dialup (ie. remailer.be). I've got stunnel ready to go so Mercury can
repeatedly POPS it down from there on their port 587 (?) interface. I was
fooling around last time with the idea of leaving aprox a day of mail in
the gmail box in case I had a hardware failure and needed to re-d/l any
mail that might have been eaten. I've got a second slug machine now that I
think I'll set up to serve no other purpose than to access the gmail box
every few hours and remove anything that's more than a day (+/-) old. Last
time it was a pain in the butt manually deleting - that just isn't a long
term strategy. I'm open to suggests on this whole approach. At the moment
I'm still looking for a little pop/imap client program that has both a
"check every n minutes" capability and an Outlook style "Remove messages
that are more than x days old from the server" option.

suggestions? (on anything)

Stay tuned for an announcement.. I've been reading and installing for 2
weeks at this point.. maybe next weekend if all goes well.

later,
Mike
