[Remops] Announcing nymphemeral - a GUI client for use with forward-secret nyms

I am pleased to announce nymphemeral, a nym GUI client for
enhanced Zax-style nymservs. Enhanced in this context means that
messages sent from the nym and messages sent to the nym are
wrapped with an additional layer of forward-secret symmetric
encryption. In other words, each message is encrypted with its
own unique key, and a compromise of the nymserv or the user will
not permit decryption of old messages.

nymphemeral automates the creation, reconfiguration, and
deletion of nyms. Further, nymphemeral automatically formats and
encrypts messages for sending from the nym, and uses hsub support
to locate and decrypt messages to the nym from
alt.anonymous.messages or other newsgroups. nymphemeral can be
configured to send messages via either mixmaster or sendmail, or
the encrypted messages from nymphemeral can be sent manually.

nymphemeral is written in python, and can be easily installed
on a Debian/Ubuntu system using pip. To install pip (and git -
also required):

   sudo apt-get install python-pip git

Determine your pip version (pip --version). For pip version 1.4.x
or older, install nymphemeral with:

   sudo pip install nymphemeral

For pip version 1.5.0 or later, install nymphemeral with:

   sudo pip install --process-dependency-links nymphemeral

Installation on other linux systems should follow a similar
procedure, although the method for installing pip and git will
most likely be different.

In conjunction with the release of nymphemeral, an enhanced
Zax-style nymserver supporting the new forward-secret nyms has
been established at nym.now.im. Details regarding the nymserv,
including the nymserv's public key are available at:

nym.now.im is based on Zax's original nymserv code. Source code
for the new forward-secret nymserv can be found here:

nym.now.im will also function as an ordinary Zax-style nymserv,
without the additional protection of forward-secret encryption,
if you prefer to use it in the standard way.
