Hi,
hermetix has been down for a week because of a disk failure.
I have backups, but still have to relocate everything onto another
server.

This one was due for an update anyway ;)
Sorry for the messages still on the dead drive...

I will post back when its back up.

The long awaited upgrade to services in our area will begin on Monday
01/09/2008 at approximately 05:00 (GMT +8:00). This will involve
replacement of the copper and fiber networks and an upgrade the main
exchange for the area. We have been told to "expect unannounced
downtime"
(sounds awfully like an oxymoron to me) for periods of up to 6 hours
at
anytime over the next 5 days.

At the same time I will also be changing my service provider,
computers and
operating system.

There shouldn't be any loss of mail, just delays of several hours,
several
times for several days. It will also affect mail2news.

I'm sorry about this, but it is unavoidable.

Subject: [Remops] cside down due to hardware failure

The cside remailer has been down sine early on Thursday morning (UTC) due to a hard disk failure.

I am currently working on moving all cside services to new hardware.

Since I have full backups from approx 12 hours before the failure and mail is being queued there should be very little mail loss.
