Amigo Mail2news is not only open to remailers, it is completely
seperate from the remailer network and anyone can post through
it directly. It is not anonymizing and if people abuse it, I
reserve the right to block them from continuing to use it (no-
one thus far has been blocked). The NNTP-Posting-Host is
essential for this.

I also don't want the hassle of receiving complaints from novice
netnannys and the NNTP-Posting-Host header should help direct
the complaints to the correct place in the first instance (in
general). I should only be contacted as a final step if the
first complaint(s) is/are ignored and the abuse continues.

Remailers are not always on static IP addresses, nor do they
have to use the remailer machine to send their mail - they may
use a number of SMTP hosts. I do not want to have to keep a list
of such IP addresses continually up to date and then hard code
them into my mail Mail2News program. So remailer messages to the
Amigo Mail2News gateway will be treated the same as any other
message that arrives and the NNTP-Posting-Host header will be
added.

In short, unless someone else wants to take over the work
involved in keeping the mail2news code updated and acting as my
abuse department, I guess that is the way it's going to be. If
they do want the work, then I'm happy to listen.
